Fall Festival

We had a blast at the Quarry Hill Fall Festival this past weekend. The kids got to color pumpkins, decorate butterflies and dragonflies, take a tour of a cave, have their faces painted, and a lot of other fun stuff. We had a lot of fun and I think the girls favorite part was going into a cave. We had to use flashlights which is always interesting with a 4 and 5 year old. It was really cold in the cave and it was really sandy. Bella kept saying that there is sand on the ground. It was cute and was neat to experience it with them. I had never been in the Quarry Hill cave so it was a first for me as well. We had a really good time and we off to another busy week. School and dance! I hope everyone has a good week!

Baby Boy Album

I created this little album for my son. I used all Melissa Frances supplies. I wanted something that I would be able to easily refer back to. I cut my own chipboard for this and added rings to combine. The baby boy tickets are so darling and I have been wanting to use them for so long! I sewed Liam's name on the front cover and I think it turned out nicely. This was on of the projects that I made for the Melissa Frances Blog for the guest designer spot this month! Thank you so much for looking.

Melissa Frances Projects

I created this picture stand with all Melissa Frances supplies. I wanted something for my daughter's room. They share a bedroom so I wanted to have something that I could feature both girls in. I have made it possible for the journaling to slide out behind both girls. I love how this came together. The papers and coordinating supplies from the French Twist line are so beautiful! It will fit well in their room!

I created this layout of my kids with all Melissa Frances supplies for my guest designer spot this month on the blog. I hand cut the flowers from the Thankful paper collection and layered them with beads and glitter glue. I had a lot of fun creating this layout!

Melissa Frances Guest Artist

I am honored that my work is going to be featured this month on the Melissa Frances blog.
The first project I created was a wreath made out of all of
Melissa Frances Thankful patterned papers.
The supplies you will need are:
1. 12 inch styrofoam wreath base, I found mine at Michaels.
2. hot glue gun and glue
3. staples- a lot!
4. 6-8 sheets of 12 x 12 paper, depending on how full you want your wreath
5. and anything else you want to decorate your wreath with.
What I did was cut all of my paper into 3/4 inch by 3 inch pieces. This took me 2 days or so to cut it all. Once done, I inked all of my edges for a more worn look. I then stapled the pieces end to end, make sure not to make a fold because you want the loop effect. You also can use adhesive to keep the ends together, but that gets kind of expensive considering the amount of adhesive you will need. Stapling them worked better for me and a lot faster! I then start at the top of the wreath and work downward to the middle. Doing sections at a time and stopping to look every so often to make sure it looks right. I adhered the loops to the wreath with hot glue which seems to hold nicely and goes quickly. I'm sure there are other methods, so feel free to do what works best for you. Once you have all of the loops on I usually decorate my wreath with a ribbon which allows for easier hanging once done. I love making these wreaths, they are a lot of work, but the end result is so worth it.
If you have any questions on anything else that I missed, please don't
hesitate to e-mail me: kibeth@hotmail.com
Again, I'm so honored to be a part of the blog this month!!! Thanks for stopping by today!
